What Causes Wrinkles?

📌 INTRINSIC aging is chronological aging that naturally occurs over our lifetime. The aging process is a slow one and contributes to a very small percentage of wrinkles.

📌 EXTRINSIC aging refers to environmental influences that lead to wrinkles. Some examples are smoking, pollution, repeated facial expressions, sleeping positions and most importantly exposure to the SUN. Photoaging is by far the biggest culprit in the cause of wrinkles. The Center for Biotechnology Information says that photoaging is responsible for 80% OF WRINKLES. Not only do the suns rays penetrate into the dermal layer causing a breakdown of collagen and elastin but also sun spots, rough texture, pigmentation and even skin cancer.
