Day Spa vs. Medical Spa

What is the  difference between a Day Spa & a Medical Spa

For many people this a bit ambiguous.

A Day Spa provides personal care treatments focusing on relaxation, health and beauty. You will find services such as massages, mani/pedi, facials and mud baths. Day Spas are not under the care or direction of a Medical Director and services are not typically performed by medically trained professionals, though they are most often trained in their area of expertise.

A Medical Spa, on the other hand, is found in a medical facility and is under the direction of a Board Certified and Licensed Physician. Medical Spas focus on giving medical-grade procedures to correct a variety of skin conditions including acne and breakouts, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, age spots, melasma, rosacea, scars, stretch marks, tightening and toning and restoring youth and vitality to the skin*. They are less about relaxation and more about providing lasting improvements to the skin.

That was a lot information, but hopefully we’ve shined a little light on a sometimes bewildering topic!
